Austin Summer Bucket List

We made it to Wednesday, friends – we’re half way through the week! This week has been particularly crazy for me because we started our youth summer musical intensive. In ten short days, a group of kids from 8 to 18 years old will rehearse, stage and perform a fully produced musical. It’s mind boggling! But I’m loving the music that accompanies my work in the morning since they are learning one of my favorite Disney musicals, Beauty & The Beast. If you’re in Austin and are looking for a great family friendly outing, the opening night is Friday, June 19 and runs through Monday, June 22 with a total of 6 performances. I highly recommend you check it out!

Now that the summer season has started at work, it has me thinking of all of the things that I want to do in Austin area this summer! Since this is my first summer in Austin, the list is pretty long, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to things that we can definitely make happen!

1. See the bats under Congress Bridge fly at sunset

2. Visit the original Salt Lick

I've got the meat sweats & I haven't even eaten yet.

Because who doesn’t love BBQ?

3. Watch a Round Rock Express game

Baseball is the great American pastime and what is a better summer outing than a ball game?

4. Go to an outdoor movie

Between the Blue Starlite Drive-in and Austin Movies in the Parks, Roswell and I are ready to snuggle up under the stars and watch some movies!

5. Check out some food trucks

Thanks to Austin Passbook’s 2-for-1 deals on many food trucks around the city, Roswell and I are looking forward to trying a ton of new places this summer. Plus, we’ve marked our calendars for Trailer Food Tuesdays on July

6. Make a trip to New Braunfels

Roswell and I have been trying to make it out to New Braunfels since I moved down here in December. We can’t wait to visit New Braunfels Brewing Company!

7. Find out where Bee Cave gets its name

Roswell and I will be moving to Bee Cave in less than two weeks and I’m looking forward to learning more about our new neighborhood!

8. Go exploring in the Hill Country

Again with moving in less than two weeks, we’ll be in Hill Country and we can’t wait to explore by hiking and running through the area!

What’s on your summer bucket list? If you’re in Austin, what is missing from my list that I need to do?!
