Cherry Blossom Training – Weeks 6 & 7

3blackcatco_cucb_week2Hello! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? The last two weeks have been a bit busy – I’ve been feeling a little under the weather , but the bigger news is that Roswell and I bought a house! So we’ve been going between the apartment and the house as we get ready to move. I’m looking forward to sharing more as we get the house some much needed TLC and getting to know our new neighborhood.

Did you see my post on the Cherry Blossom blog? Volunteering is a passion of mine and I could literally give you a twenty page paper I wrote on it. I’ll spare you the twenty page paper, but hope you’ll check out all of the amazing volunteer opportunities that the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run offers for runners and non-runners alike. CUCB still needs volunteers for Friday & Saturday if you’re running the race, as well as Sunday if you didn’t get in this year and want to guarantee your place (or your favorite runner’s place) next year. Two more long runs until race day! How do you start to prepare for race day?

Monday 2/27:

Tuesday 2/28: AM: Pilates Fitness (60:00)
Lunch: 2.60 mi (32:32) 12:32 min/mi

Wednesday 3/1: 1.94 Elliptical miles (24:44)

Thursday 3/2: 1.52 Elliptical miles (20:55)

I wasn’t feeling my typical Thursday morning Barbell Strength class so I hopped on the elliptical again. I also spent a bit of time foam rolling and stretching, where Roswell joined me:

Friday 3/3: Rest

Saturday 3/4: Rest

Sunday 3/5: 8.00 mi (1:39:11) 12:23 min/mi

Total mileage for the week: 10.60 miles
Total mileage for February: 40.46 miles – less than January simply because of the 40+ miles from the Dopey challenge alone.

Monday 3/6:  Yoga Basics (60 minutes)

Tuesday 3/7: We closed on the house, so we took a rest day and went out to celebrate with dinner!

Wednesday 3/8: 4.24 miles (56:27) 13:19 min/mi

Thursday 3/9: We wanted to get over to the house before Roswell went out of town for the weekend to update the locks and fix the fence (Thanks to Google photos that gave me the super stylized photo of our house!)

Friday 3/10: Rest
Dropped Roswell off at the airport super early, so I headed home after work to get some sleep.

Saturday 3/11: Rest
Spent the day cleaning the house with my mom and adventuring to IKEA!

Sunday 3/12: I was a victim of Daylight Saving Time and a sore throat… and woke up too late to make it to the PR training program this morning. Because I’d been feeling crummy, I just decided to rest and sleep in the rest of the day, until picked Roswell up from the airport.

Total mileage for the week: 4.24 miles

My goal for this week:

  • Get back to work! Now that I’m feeling better, it’s time to get back to training

What are your goals this week?

Did you know that the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run Social Media team is raising money for Credit Unions for Kids, supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals? I have a personal goal to raise $250 towards our team goal of $2,500 – will you help me?
