CUCB Ten Mile Run Fall Kickoff Party Recap

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Kickoff Party was a few weeks ago and I wanted to share all of the fun things that happened that night! First things first, though – important news this week:

Okay, I think I’ve covered all of the important news – now for the fun stuff!

dsc_6819.jpgThe party was held at the new state-of-the-art MedStar Health at Lafayette Centre – this place was so nice and had so many fun machines that I would have loved to try or at least see in action! One of those included the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, seen below:

Good Luck Box was on site to spread some good luck (and free race entries and lottery exemptions!) I’m definitely adding one of these to my pre-race wishlist (hint, hint Roswell!)

Supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a primary goal of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. There were two opportunities to donate to CMNH at the kickoff party, including a wine pull:

My favorite part of the evening definitely had to be the t-shirt art reveal and color voting! This year’s design was created by Annette Asare, a 17-year-old high school student from Delaware who created her design as part of a school assignment.

Once the design was revealed, the attendees had a chance to vote for either the purple or the red option. Obviously color is very important to me, and while I’m definitely team red, I felt that the design worked better with the heathered purple!  I was not alone and purple won by a landslide! dsc_6825.jpgdsc_6823.jpg

A bit later on in evening,  Phil Stewart, the Event Director, introduced Sara and I as two of the race ambassadors. Holly and Adam were not able to attend, so we held down the fort! Make sure you’re following all of us, including the Social Media team: Kim, Coco and Elizabeth, on social media as we get ready for the race this spring!

I apparently said something I found very funny to Sara.

Roswell and I had to leave shortly after being introduced because we had a very early wake up call for the Annapolis Running Classic half marathon the next morning. I am looking forward to having a few weeks off in January after the Dopey Challenge before joining the PR Training Program to kick off training!
