Weekly Recap: April 17 – April 23

A few days later than I anticipated, but here I am again, recapping last week: three days of heart rate training, plus some yoga! I’m enjoying my run commute home after work – it takes just as long as my shuttle (if not actually less time), but I am way happier when I get home and my run is done for the day. I want to start walking home from work on days that I don’t run home… AND we’ve been talking about getting me a bike so I can bike to and from work!  I’m adjusting surprisingly well to not having a car (we’re a one car family), the only times it’s been frustrating has been when I need to schedule a doctor’s appointment during the week. Otherwise, I haven’t had too much trouble!

Monday 4/17: Rest

I made sure to sport my blue and yellow for Marathon Monday (and Patriot’s day) – I streamed the Boston Marathon in the morning while at work. Marathons always make me teary eyed.

Tuesday 4/18: 3.03 mi (52:01) 17:09 min/mi
[W02D2 Intervals: Walk, Z2, 5 minutes. Run easy, Z3, 2 minutes. Repeat 3 times.]
I totally forgot my heart rate monitor strap – so no data for this run.

Wednesday 4/19: 2.41 mi (40:16) 16:45 min/mi
[W02D4 Intervals: Walk, Z2, 5 minutes. Run easy, Z3, 2 minutes. Repeat 2 times. Repeat 3 times.]
Avg HR: 127 bpm Max HR: 161 bpm Aerobic TE: 2.9 (Maintaining Aerobic Fitness)

Since I didn’t have my heart rate monitor the day before, I decided to repeat the number of intervals from the day before.


Thursday 4/20: We needed to run some errands after work today so rest day for me. Look at how cute this seat grouping is from Lowe’s! I can’t wait to set up our deck for some relaxing this summer!20170420_164803

Friday 4/21: Rest

It was a pretty rainy day (again) – so we just spent the evening inside, cleaning. I did spend a good bit of time foam rolling and stretching after we finished up cleaning.

Saturday 4/22: Spent the morning grocery shopping and working in the yard – so I’m counting all of the raking, bagging, and sledgehammering my workout for the day! We also worked on setting up our “fitness” room – complete with all of our medals and bibs!

Sunday 4/23: 2.98 mile walk (1:04:23) + 60 minute Yin Yoga class

Avg HR: 117 bpm Max HR: 130 bpm Aerobic TE: 2.7 (Maintaining Aerobic Fitness)


Total mileage for the week: 8.42 miles

    Yard work is a serious workout! How cool that you want to bike to and from work. I would love to be able to do that! LOL – Starbucks rarely gets my name correctly on the cup. You should see their faces when I ask for them to write HoHo. Thanks for linking, Heather!
