3 Black Cat Co Stitch Fix No. 21

Stitch Fix No. 21 – January 2017

3 Black Cat Co Stitch Fix No. 21I thought I would take a little intermission in my RunDisney recaps to share my first Fix of the new year!

I took a break from Stitch Fix in December because of the holidays. While they were running an amazing contest to win a year of Fixes, I decided between all that I had coming up between the holidays and our Disney trip I would try to save some money where I could. When we returned from Disney, I was pleasantly surprised by a Stitch Fix box on my doorstep a few days later. Do you ever schedule a fix a few months out and forget when it’s suppose to arrive? Just me? Oh well.

I didn’t include a note this time for my stylist (see above) so it was an entire surprise what would be included in the fix. My stylist Natalia used my previous fixes and my Pinterest board as inspiration and put together a very nice fix for me!

Natalia sent me several work appropriate mix and match pieces for this fix. So I tried the first three together:

I loved all three of these pieces together. It was comfortable but still put together. I could also see me wearing each of these pieces individually with other pieces in my closet.

I loved the two tone effect of the stripes for the top. The fabric for this top was soft and I feel like it will be a great summer top as well because it is so light!

I kept the pants on to try the next mix & match top:

This is a top I would have worn at my first job right out of college. The collar, bottom and cuffs are sewn onto the sweater to eliminate the bulk of layering. However, it just felt cheap and something I could have picked up at Kohl’s or someplace similar. There’s nothing wrong with Kohl’s, but I’m not going to pay Stitch Fix prices for something I could easy find elsewhere.

Next up, Natalia sent me an amazing top that I could have definitely seen myself wear on weekends:

However, when I pulled it on along with a pair of jeans, I wasn’t impressed. The quality was great, the fabric was soft, and I loved the style. The cut and fit were just off, and I didn’t feel like it was super flattering. It was just a sweatshirt.

So what did I keep and what did I return?

I looking forward to wearing the striped top year around and I’ve been looking to add some more pants to work wardrobe. The only item I’m sad that I didn’t keep was the blazer. I really liked it, but decided that I would save some money and return it. And while I LOVED the style of the sweatshirt, I would like to try to find something a little more flattering (a floral sleeved Lularoe Randy, anyone?) What do you think? Should I have kept anything I returned?

If you haven’t tried Stitch Fix yet, I totally encourage you to try at least once. There is a $20 stylist fee that is applied to whatever you purchase in that fix and I have always bought at least one item in my fixes. Visit Stitch Fix to fill out your own style profile.
